Consultation & Skin Assessment
Our expert Technicians assess your skin and hair type to create a personalized treatment plan. During the consultation you will have photos taken of the areas to be treated so that we may monitor reduction. A patch test is completed to ensure the treatment is safe, effective and customized to your skin and hair type before a full session.
STEP 2
Recurring Treatments
Laser treatments are spaced 4-6 weeks apart to target hair in its growth cycle. Multiple sessions ensure optimal, long-lasting results.
STEP 3
Maintenance & Touch-Ups
Once the treatment cycle is complete, occasional touch-ups help maintain smooth skin.

CARING FOR YOUR SKIN
Before & After Treatment
Shave & Exfoliate
It’s essential to shave the area you’re getting lasered before your appointment. We recommend shaving the 24 hours before. We recommend that you exfoliate the skin the day before treatment. This will remove dead skin and prevent ingrown hairs.
Avoid UV Exposure & Sunlight
Avoid UV exposure for four weeks before your appointment; that includes tanning, tanning beds, and tanning/bronzing creams. Avoid UV exposure during the treatment period up to six weeks following your last treatment.
Avoid the Following

Irritant topical agents for 2-3 days before treatment.

Anticoagulants (blood thinners) for 7-10 days prior to treatment, if medically permitted.

Taking a long bath or shower immediately prior to treatment.

Pools (saltwater and chlorinated) and hot tubs.

An oil-based moisturizer should not be used the day of the treatment.

Avoid perfumes on the day of treatment.
Arriving at Karma Medi Spa
Wear loose clothing if possible and leave your metal jewelery and accessories at home.
Arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete our Guest intake forms.
Avoid UV Exposure & Sunlight
It is important that you stay out of the sun to avoid UV exposure on all lasered areas after treatment. Use sun protection with a 50+ SPF throughout the course of your treatments. Avoid UV exposure during the treatment period up to six weeks following your last treatment. If you currently do not have sunscreen you may purchase at reception.
Skin Care & Redness

Moisturizer may be applied after each treatment.

Make-up may be applied immediately after facial treatment if the skin is intact.

If the skin is irritated, apply a cool damp cloth
What to Expect After your Appointment

Redness and irritation – It’s totally normal to see redness and/or irritation around your lasered areas. This redness—that may look like a mild sunburn—can last a few days, but usually subsides after a few short hours.

The appearance of new hair growth – anywhere from seven to 30 days after your appointment, you may notice hair growth in treated areas. Don’t panic! After laser treatments, the targeted hairs take time to fall out of the follicle which is why it looks like new hairs are growing. Keep shaving and come back for your next appointment in four to six weeks.
